THE JOHN AND PEGGY CLENSHAW PRIZE
This
is an annual prize awarded to a School Project that explores local
history and the built environment. The focus and reach of this Prize
as well as the mechanics of organising this are in the process of
being set-up. It is hoped that the Prize will encourage children
at Years 6-8 to explore the rich tapestry of local history and its
effect on the architecture and design of human settlement today.
The Prize will allow local West Surrey and North East Hampshire
schools to celebrate and award the best of these projects and talent.
The Prize is named to celebrate a unique person in the life of Stedman
Blower, one of our principle patrons. John Clenshaw joined AJ &
LR Stedman Architects (as was Stedman Blower) in 1947 as an articled
pupil. He has worked continuously for 60 years supporting the Partners
and Directors in a loyal and unswerving way. This Prize celebrates
the value we attach to lifelong learning and the wisdom that comes
with so much experience and tradition.
